- Denver Beer Fest, Sept. 23-Oct. 1, is a nine-day celebration of all things beer, packed with rare beer tastings, meet the brewer nights, and brewery tours. The Mile High City brews more beer than any other city in the nation and is home to the world's largest beer celebration – the Great American Beer Festival (GABF), Sept. 29-Oct. 1. While the GABF sold out 11 weeks early this year, there are still more than 100 beer-centric events during Denver Beer Fest, all available to view at DenverBeerFest.com, including:

The Great Contenders Sept. 24, 1 p.m.

The Wynkoop Brewing Company was founded by Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper – the first former brewer to be elected a state governor since Sam Adams. The Wynkoop will host the kick-off event for Denver Beer Fest with a three-hour tasting of 50+ Colorado medal-winning beers from more than 20 of the state's best brewers. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Colorado Brewers Guild, which promotes Colorado beer and its culture across Colorado.

Butterflies & Beer Sept. 27, 6 p.m.

There are more than 1,600 free-flying butterflies in the tropical rainforest of the Butterfly Pavilion and Insect Pavilion, the largest facility of its kind in the U.S. What goes better with butterflies than beer? Try a of tasting of the best beers from O'Dell's Brewery and build up your nerve to hold Rosie – a six-inch long Tarantula.

Beers, Brats and Burlesque: "Tastings & Tassels" Sept. 27, 7 p.m.

Ooh la la! Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret on the 16th Street Mall will offer a selection of rare batch beers from Boulder's Avery Brewery, mixed with the Clocktower Clockettes, a fun, flirty show of burlesque dancing and comedy.

SeptFest 2011 Sept, 24, 3 p.m.-6 p.m.

Sip cold, craft brews on the Ritz Carlton Denver's outdoor terrace featuring beer provided by Great Divide Brewery Company and Oskar Blues, house-made Denver Pale Ale brats, over-sized pretzels, and live music by Denver's own Kentucky Parlor Pickers.

Coors Light Tailgate Experience Sept. 24 & Oct. 1, 5-7 p.m.

Tailgating is a time-honored sports tradition – do it in style during Denver Beer Fest. Come early to the Colorado Rapids game at Dick's Sporting Goods Park for the Coors Light Tailgate Experience, which includes two tickets to the match, two complimentary Coors Lights, food and admittance to the exclusive VIP tailgate.

Breakfast and Beer Sept. 23-Oct. 1

Beer for breakfast? But of course! During Denver Beer Fest, the Capitol Hill Mansion Bed & Breakfast will serve Wynkoop Brewing Company's Rail Yard Ale each morning from 7:30-9:30 a.m., alongside its delicious homemade breakfast entrees.

Beer Olympics Sept. 25, 2:30 p.m.

May the best beer lover win! At the Coyote Ugly Saloon, teams of four hardy beer lovers will sign up to play in five head-to-head beer games. Games include speed beer pong, beer spooning, flip cup, straight beer chug – and an obstacle course just for good measure. Every team wins a prize.

Zip and Sip Sept. 23-Oct. 1

Head to the Rocky Mountains and soar through the air on a 435-foot zipline. After that, who doesn't need a beer? A Tommy Knocker's Brewery Sampler in Historic Idaho Springs is included in the package.

Exclusive Denver Beer Fest Beer Sept. 23-Oct. 1

Coors Brewery is the largest single brewing site on the planet, and the oldest brewery in Colorado. Take a free Coors Brewery tour to see how for 130 years, they have been turning Rocky Mountain spring water into liquid gold. After the tour, those over 21 can enjoy a free sample of an exclusive AC Golden beer, brewed just for Denver Beer Fest.

Denver Rare Beer Tasting III Sept. 30

You won't find these brews at your local liquor store. More than 20 rare and exotic craft beers will be poured at this third annual Rare Beer tasting, which raises funds for the Pints for Prostates campaign. The brewers who created these brewing works of art will be on hand to talk with guests. The strange, wonderful brews featured at the 2009 event and at the 2010 event were among the most talked about beers available in Denver during Denver Beer Fest.
