Turism&Travel : New Osmond star sparkles in Waikiki
Thursday 31 March 2011There's a new kid in town, and just knowing his last name is Osmond is enough to raise excitement.
Today, Nathan released a video from Waikiki announcing the success of his newest release, âSweetâ from his âFeels Like Heavenâ CD. Osmond has a rich tone that works well with many types of music. I'm hoping he'll consider heading out to Oahu's Halona Beach Cove and record a cover of Michael Peterson's âFrom Here to Eternity.â Osmond said in a past interview that Hawaii was the first place he told his wife to be âI love you.â Pacific Swing Hawaii incorporates some of the best aspects of live performance one could hope for. Bette Midler and Barry Manilow did a fantastic job introducing Boomers to 1940s music, and Donny and Marie perfected the song and dance stage show. Nathan Osmond is in the right place at the right time to turn Waikiki entertainment on its head. Dinner packages are available, which include the performance and a gourmet buffet. The venue is a beautiful ballroom at the Marriott; while guests wait for the show to begin, two screens show vintage footage from the 1940s, to create the ambiance of the day. As the show begins, clocks start running backward, as if the audience is transported by a time machine back to the Big Band era. The show opens with Glenn Miller's iconic âIn The Mood,â and everyone who has seen the show reports it puts them in great spirits. Twenty-six songs from the 1940s are performed live on stage, featuring the largest cast in Waikiki, including dancers who made the top 20 on âSo You Think You Can Dance,â and professional swing dancers.
