US State Secretary Condoleezza Rice explained yesterday that the US did not use torture to get information from prisoners and had not asked other states to put up with torture used to this purpose . She mentioned it yesterday at the Andrew US airbase as reply to overwhelming critique against CIA transport of prisoners to detention centers where torture was said to be used. Stephen Hadley denied information on alleged CIA prisons, claiming that Washington was not in the habit of sending terrorist suspects abroad for torture. Today the US State Secretary is in Bucharest. She is to have meeting with Romanian president Traian Basescu at Cotroceni Palace and sign the agreement on the establishing of US military bases in Romania.
